Raining dogs (no cats!)

My sister has been bugging me to paint her dogs for ages. Like years. I'm a professional procrastinator, I'm really good at it but I've had the photos in a folder and finally she told me "do them!" So with a huff, and yes I prolonged it another three days but I finished it. They turned out better than I thought they would.

They're easily framed. I left enough room for an overlap if there will be a mat board but not too much that it looks too empty.

I tried to give them a sitting position even though the photos were not the same.

Each of the dogs has their own personality and I tried to paint them their own way giving them their own distinction but still similar enough that they look like they're together.

Because they are the same size, no matter what format you use for hanging, they'll all go well.

Hydrangeas

It's that time of year! Hydrangeas have bloomed. Sunflowers have bloomed. If you want them all year round, here's the best way to keep them! All are still available!

Audiobooks and Art

I know many artists like to listen to music while they paint but I like to listen to audiobooks. I borrow from the library and its usually great but today I was three quarters through when it expired on me (my fault). When I went back in to borrow it, I had to place a hold. So I'll have to wait a week to find out what happened.  Blue Hydrangea 096 oil on canvas board 8" by 8" Click to Buy   Whenever I look at a painting I can always remember what book I was listening to. In some ways I self title them that way. This one will always be split into two but I got it finished anyway.  Not to advertise but I realize if I don't say it's a cliff hanger -  Sara Gruen - At the Water's Edge (interrupted- don't tell me how it ends) Sara Gruen - Water For Elephants
