Composition

It seems I have a tendency to run my compositions off the page. It's something I really am intrigued with. Although it makes it more contemporary a style I think it works for me, since my subject is so traditional.

I feel like there is a completeness to it. Although when trying to create a traditional still life, I find working with empty space difficult not sure what to do with it.

I also find, I'm still running it off the page.

These last few examples have been me painfully conscious and trying
                                                             NOT to use the sides.

So the question is, which ones work better?

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white.  This artwork could work in any room. It's small size allows for it to be a part of a larger compilation or in smaller spaces such as hallways, kitchen, or bathrooms. Iris (19-14) 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to buy with Paypal

Hydrangeas

It's that time of year! Hydrangeas have bloomed. Sunflowers have bloomed. If you want them all year round, here's the best way to keep them! All are still available!

What a Mix

Today I was all over the place at first, running around. Somehow I managed to finish three paintings that I had sitting unfinished for a little while  Floral Mix 012 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to Buy Reach to the Top 7" by 5" oil on canvas board Click to Buy Green Reflections 5" by 7" oil on canvas board Buy with Paypal A productive day after all.
