Pink Peonies (20-19)

This is a stand alone piece.

I had this picture of these peonies for a long time intending to paint them and I finally buckled down and got to it. There were leaves in the photo but I felt it didn't need it. I just wanted to paint the voluminous blooms and keep them the star. I don't think the leaves would have detracted the attention but I guess that makes it worth being the boss. I get to make those decisions.

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white. This artwork could work in any room.
