Afternoon Sun

This one took a few tries.
Some come to be, easier than others. Not this one.
I was able to get the drawing easily and after that it was a tug-of-war.

The greens were either too green or too dark.
The yellows were too yellow or too dark.
The highlights were too much or not enough.
Even the background was the wrong tone.

But I think I got it in the end.

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white.  This artwork could work in any room. It's small size allows for it to be a part of a larger compilation or in smaller spaces such as hallways, kitchen, or bathrooms. Iris (19-14) 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to buy with Paypal
