In the works

This is the last sunflower painting for this year.
Of course it's also the largest!

It started out okay.
The drawing went well and the composition was good.

But...?
I really hated that one sunflower in front. The petals were too round and I just didn't like it.

So I went digital.
Well, on my phone where I don't have a digital pencil, but I could see that I was right.

So I found a reference photo that might work and liked that it was a different color.

So far so good.
Now just the nitty gritty editing is left.

Spring Rhythm

This is another one of my faves! It's a softer Spring piece but there is something almost musical about the flow throughout. The yellow flowers were trimmed from my rosebush out in the front yard. The rest of the arrangement came from Creekview Floral, who do amazing bouquets and arrangements.  "Spring Rhythm" 12 x 16 oil on canvas This one needs a new home!

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white.  This artwork could work in any room. It's small size allows for it to be a part of a larger compilation or in smaller spaces such as hallways, kitchen, or bathrooms. Iris (19-14) 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to buy with Paypal

Hydrangeas

It's that time of year! Hydrangeas have bloomed. Sunflowers have bloomed. If you want them all year round, here's the best way to keep them! All are still available!
