 A glimpse of what is to come... This photo above is what all the work was all about. Ignore the mess, we were still moving in. It is not pretty at this point. There was one small issue about the doors now being exactly centered to the roof pitch, but that was an easy fix for my husband and myself to do. We added a few inches and reframed the doorway. The new doors will add to 46" instead of 48" we had intended. Side view, double doors for lawnmower, wheelbarrow and other big things. It rained for three weeks but you can see it coming along. There were a lot of little jobs, like the concrete front step, framing the doors and windows and this is just the start. More to come...

                                                                  So here it is, framed! You can see the height, no more smashing heads on this one. You can start to see the shape coming along. There were a few things that I really wanted to incorporate but also not break the bank on. I wanted a Dutch door. I wanted a large skylight and I wanted a cupola. I also wanted a flower box on the front.   Here's where we get crafty and thrifty at the same time. We bought the French glass door off of a Kijiji site (much like Craigslist) for $65. It was a little banged up, needed a new handle and paint really helped. They cost at least $650 here, each. Saved!   For years we have had a tiny metal shed that we both would bump our heads in. It was cheap and it would keep our outside stuff dry, mostly. We have lived here for about twenty years, so perhaps it was about time to get a more grown up shed. So I designed one with glee while my husband grumbled about Pinterest under his breath. This is the before photo. 2020. I have spent many years building up the privacy factor and it was difficult to pull it all down and strip the corner. So we stripped it in April while everything was still dormant so it didn't seem like we were taking away so much. It took the two of us a weekend to clear it out, roots and everything.  These two beautiful sheds were my inspiration off of Pinterest. The floor went in first. Sunflowers seem to be the hit item this year. So I suppose, I went a little crazy with them. I painted this trio at the same time, keeping the palette in similar hues. They are warmer than my prior sunflowers, which makes it more about autumn with the sun changing and the those last days of warm weather.  I made some on canvas board so that those of you who just want a hint of color or have a smaller space to fill also have a selection to choose from. Or keep them as a trio. Or perhaps, just the two smaller panels that you can frame and brighten up a room. Choices are good.

These sunflowers are painted in warm tones, depicting the wonderful summer weather we have had  all the way into the middle of October.  As it pours outside right now, I can only reminisce.   As usual, I have continued the painting off the edges.  Keep it as is or frame it, it's your choice.  

  I have been painting this canvas since August.  It is finally done! To get an idea about its size, you can see my desk and painting station below. I named it JOY! It's full of life and colour. Lots of energy. All wrapped up and ready to go. I hope to soon have a photo of it in its new home.
