Peonies 170

It's that time of year where I'm forced to finish up some half done paintings. There are too many stacked up and as the weather turns, I'm spending more time indoors.  Insert sad face emoji here. But this one is finished now so I hope you enjoy it. Peonies 170 9" by 12" oil on canvas Click to Buy

Oldie but Goodie

In 2013, we made a spontaneous trip up north to Algonquin Park at the end of September. Us (my hubby, me, the kids and the dog), and thousands of others. The campgrounds were packed and buses were dropping off people like ants to candy. I had never seen anything like it.  Why was everyone rushing there, you ask.  The weather was amazing (sunny and warm) and the leaves were perfect (the fall colour was striking). The warm air created fog in pockets in the hills, it was breathtaking. I have painted this picture before but I wanted to try again. Below you can see the process. Canadian Thanksgiving

It was that time of year again! Not the greatest weather this year but I did my best to find half decent photos to take when I could. North Bay area - Restoule Now it's back to work.

Autumn Breeze (167)

September seems to have zipped by so quickly and I have barely anything done. I've been working on this canvas for the past week or so.  Getting the main parts of the drawing is essential. I'm more a sloppy painter. I can't do one little section at a time. I work the canvas the whole time, going over and over until it's finished. I am trying out a new medium (walnut oil) to see how it works. So far, so good. The hardest part is trying to figure out when it's finished.  Autumn Breeze (167) 20" by 20" oil on canvas Click to Buy
