Back to Work

September didn't end up like I imagined.   The house has been in chaos for the past few weeks. We're putting in a much needed second bathroom (finally!), and for some reason I got the idea that since the house is in crazytown I should add more crazy to it. So I moved the studio downstairs to the family room. Sounds so simple, but I had to take apart all the furniture and because I'm not Wonder Woman, take each small piece down and once it was all there, put it together. I'm tired just telling you about it.  This also created a whole chain event of moving both my kids rooms around (which means painting their new rooms and of course bribery - a new piece of furniture each ). Two trips to IKEA later, hours of putting everything together and we're almost there. I hope.  I do not recommend doing this to anyone. I put together: 2 shelving units, 1 sidetable, 1 desk with 5 drawers, 1 vanity with 2 drawers, and a cube bookcase I think I'm done w

Something New

I've been trying a few new things in the past few weeks. This is my first finished Landscape in a while. I hope to have a few more coming soon. I took this photo up in Algonquin Provincial Park in 2013. To say that it was overdue is an understatement.  Red Maple (164) 16" by 20" oil on canvas Fun Facts: I took 1500 photos that weekend (Most I'd ever taken in such a limited time). My daughter came down with the flu and spent four hours in the tent sleeping off the worst of it (No, I didn't take any photos of her while she was like this). I also discovered that if you get up in the dark, walk through the fog not seeing another soul in the campsite, when you get to the waterfront there are more photographers set up than paparazzi. I had never seen anything like it before. It took awhile to find a spot to set up without getting another camera in the shot. (That was a different photo than above)

Animals!

The matboards for the animal prints have arrived! Both the original and the prints are available. Lion prints fit into a 9x12 frame. Original lion is double matted and fits into 10x20 frame. Owls fit into a 10x13 frame. The prints are on a great archival acid free paper. You may see a slight discrepancy in colour between the original and the prints.  Grizzly's fit 10x13 frame. Currently there are not any wolf prints available. Original is for sale. Wolf original fits 14x14 frame and is double matted.

Prints

Prints are now available For the more popular paintings I have recently purchased some professional prints/giclees.  Printed on high quality paper with high quality ink.  All prints of paintings are now available on Etsy. All prints come with matboard and a protective plastic bag. For shipping, each print will be placed between two protective layers, sandwiched in, keeping them safe.            (Animal prints are delayed due to sizing issue, should be available in next week or two)

September is here...

I love September, and not just because it's when my birthday is. It's when beginnings happen (start of school, college, university), you get new stuff (school supplies!!! Nothing better - in my case it came in a big box from art supplier) and the cooler weather makes me more productive.  I have a few more pieces still left from the summer group but then it's on to other things. Landscapes, animal drawings (back my popular and almost hostile demand by many) and I'm still continuing with smaller floral pieces. It's going to be challenging as I haven't painted landscapes for a few years, but I have a large amount of my photos piling up. I can only hope it all turns out well.  Finally finished from the summer pile up.  Peonies (158) 10" by 10" oil on canvas board Click to Buy
