Daily Paintings

Starting in September I have tried to make daily paintings once again.  The idea is to paint a small painting everyday. I will admit that not all paintings work out and some take more than a day considering that I'm lucky if I can get 4 hours of painting a day.  This was my first painting that I tried. Blue Hydrangea (#22) 5" by 7"

Kaleidoscope

Ranunculus are fun flowers.  More cyclical than roses but similar enough.  They come in so many colours.  This is a fun composition showing all the colours at once. Kaleidoscope 14" by 14" by 1/2" oil on canvas

Pink Peonies (20-19)

This is a stand alone piece.  I had this picture of these peonies for a long time intending to paint them and I finally buckled down and got to it. There were leaves in the photo but I felt it didn't need it. I just wanted to paint the voluminous blooms and keep them the star. I don't think the leaves would have detracted the attention but I guess that makes it worth being the boss. I get to make those decisions.    "Pink Peonies" (20-19) Oil on Canvas 9" by 12"

Sunburst

After a somber Spring, I thought it was time for a little bit of celebrating! Lots of Colour!!! "Sunburst" 10" by 10" Oil on Canvas "Emergence" 10" by 10" oil on canvas "Eruption" 10" by 10" Oil on Canvas
I painted these two this spring in a more subdued palette.  I felt that with current events, globally, that perhaps it was warranted.  "Early Sunshine" 10" by 10" oil on canvas "Morning Dew" SOLD
