Lighting

I have a profound memory of this time last year with the same issues of lighting and taking photographs of my work late at night. It's aggravating. The light bounces around and it's really hard to get the shot.

You can see the dilemma with these two photos. The same piece of art but I did use two different cameras. I also changed locations for the artpiece. I wish I could tell you that I had a full proof set-up location. That would be lies. I basically rotate around the easel/table/backdrop until there isn't any direct shine. There are a few go-to locations but sometimes the light still bounces.

Color!

Did someone say they wanted a painting with color? HOT Pink! available as original or as a Print!

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white.  This artwork could work in any room. It's small size allows for it to be a part of a larger compilation or in smaller spaces such as hallways, kitchen, or bathrooms. Iris (19-14) 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to buy with Paypal

Spring Rhythm

This is another one of my faves! It's a softer Spring piece but there is something almost musical about the flow throughout. The yellow flowers were trimmed from my rosebush out in the front yard. The rest of the arrangement came from Creekview Floral, who do amazing bouquets and arrangements.  "Spring Rhythm" 12 x 16 oil on canvas This one needs a new home!
