Learning As we Go

August was the month when we could say that we were mostly done.
That being said, there are still two more shelves inside that need putting up, some wood varnish needs applying and the double doors to the side need a weather strip. Not to mention about gutters.

The concrete step was a learning curve.

It all worked out in the end.

We copied the brick and concrete for the ramp as well.

These were weekend jobs.
They took longer than you would think.

The siding was something new to us.
We knew logically how it worked but then lining corners up and cutting everything made it real.
Super fun! I'd know how to do it again but am not hurrying to start that project.
We realized that the siding was just getting us ready for the soffit.

You wouldn't think that the soffit would warrant four photos until you realized how much time it took to put up. With two of us is was surely faster but it was still a lot of cutting. The corners were a conundrum but my husband got creative and by the last one he was a pro.

We were originally going to have dark grey siding and light grey roof. When the roof tiles arrived too dark, we just switched the theme around.

This the front yard of my house, we painted the siding a dark grey with a purple undertone (my husband actually chose this color and I'm glad he talked me into it), same yellow on the door and you can see the roof is a light and medium grey mixed asphalt tile. We wanted the shed to look like a more modern version of our house.

Still more to come...

You've Got Mail

I managed to take photos the other day before I sent off a 6" by 6" panel. I thought that a few might be interested in how I try to make sure that you're artwork gets to you unscathed.  Before I do any wrapping, I make sure that all the information is on the back of your purchased art piece. Title, medium, size, Artists name (because my signature is impossible to decipher). Also I print an inventory number which will look something like 026.2018. 1. I wrap all boards/canvases in wax paper. There will be no smudging on my watch. 2. Bubblewrap comes next as I do not want corners dinged.    3. Tissue paper is the third wrap. This is a gift for you or someone you love and I  want you to feel like it's a present when you open it. 4. Inside your envelope you will find:  A Thank You card - because it's important for you to know that you are appreciated.  Two business cards for you to share with others Your invoice and receipt  One
