Daisies on the Canvas

Here's the final photo of "Wistful" and below is the reference example the client liked.

It wasn't all coming up daisies.
I know, bad joke.
The process wasn't pretty and even though I did take photos, they were not much to look at.

As you can see with this photo, my studio lighting needs improving drastically but also that I played with the drawing a LOT. Too much, I know better.
I couldn't lose the crammed feeling until I lost a few flowers. It took a little while to sort it out but we got there in the end.

I even had to take it up outside onto the deck to show the client the true colors.

The most important thing about all of this?
The client loved it.
That is what this is all about with a commission.
It's a wonderful feeling when you can make someone so happy.

Iris (19-14)

Another iris for the collection. This is a part of the spring collection that I am working on. I kept the background simple so the focus was on the main attraction, the bloom. The purple is a deep variation of colour and the top of the bloom is a gauzy white.  This artwork could work in any room. It's small size allows for it to be a part of a larger compilation or in smaller spaces such as hallways, kitchen, or bathrooms. Iris (19-14) 6" by 6" oil on canvas board Click to buy with Paypal

Hydrangeas

It's that time of year! Hydrangeas have bloomed. Sunflowers have bloomed. If you want them all year round, here's the best way to keep them! All are still available!

What a Mix

Today I was all over the place at first, running around.
